Finally the dates for next summers Dhrupad retreat are out
Five days to dive deep into the Art of Dhrupad
Surrounded by nature and silence
Nourished by extraordinary food
and an inspiring community
Structure
The Retreat starts the 13th July at 4pm.
You will have time to settle at the retreat center and be offered a tea and a snack.
At 5pm there will be a 2 and a half hours introduction course and then we will have a grounding dinner at 8pm.
The next four days the schedule will be as below:
6.30 to 7.30 am early morning singing meditation called Kharaj
7.30 to 9 am breakfast and break
9 to 12 am group lesson
12am to 3 pm lunch and break
3 to 7 pm group and individual lessons
7:30pm dinner
On the 18th we will have class until 1 pm have lunch and say goodbye.
The Retreat is open for singers and instrumentalists who already know how to play their instrument.
The Retreat is for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
In every Retreat I cover the basics and move on to every important aspect of the Art of Dhrupad. My aim is to help you develop freedom of expression through a deep understanding of every aspect of musical creation, rooted in the Dhrupad tradition and informed by my extensive teaching experience.
The Place
Nature, silence, beauty
The Retreat center is situated in a small village called Seres sur Arget, in the reagion Ariege, at the foot of the Pyrenees.
Why I choose this retreat center? Last years Retreat center is no longer open, so I had to find another solution. My criteria for choosing a venure? First of all: acoustics of the music hall. Wit 8 hours of music a day, if the acoustic is to dry or to wet it is really challenging for everybody. Luckily I found the perfect soud for next years retreat :)
And good news: this venue has a pool and a river!
All renovated with sustainable materials.
